Membership

If you are interested in joining JSS, please read the JSS Membership Application Guide carefully, fill out the required information on the membership application, and mail the application to the JSS Administration Center.

Request by mail

Please clearly state “Request for the membership application,” enclose a self-addressed envelope with a JPY 82 stamp, and mail it to the JSS Administration Center. In turn, we will mail you the necessary forms.

* The Board of JSS will make the decision on membership approval. As the Board of JSS meet only three to four times a year (usually toward the end of March, toward the end of July, and around October or November), it may take a while before your application is officially approved. The membership due will be billed, and materials such as journals will be mailed to you after your membership is approved. You may propose to report in a conference and/or submit a paper to JSS journals during the period between filing a membership application and awaiting its approval.

Changing Registered Member Information

If there is a change in your information, such as address, affiliation, phone number, and e-mail address, please update the same on the member information management system “SOLTI” or contact the JSS Administration Center by mail, fax, or e-mail.

• *Please do not use the post office’s payment form when contacting us.
• *Please notify us of the “general/graduate student” category in addition to the name of new affiliated organization when changing affiliation information.
• *When you wish to publish on the JSS News information regarding the change in your affiliated institution and contact, please notify the JSS Administration Center by clearly listing the items you would like to publish.

Membership Withdrawal

For those who wish to withdraw their membership, please contact the JSS Administration Center by mail, fax, or e-mail.

Membership Due Payment

Please submit your membership due payment to the following bank account of the JSS Executive Office. When there is a change in membership type (general, graduate student, or associate member), please notify the JSS Administration Center beforehand.

*JSS has a system to allow a reduced membership due for international members, and members who do not have full-time employment. For more information, please see Reduced Membership Due for International Members or Reduced Membership Due for Members Who Do Not Have a Full-time Employment.
